What is a 'pop-up' event?

Pop-up events have become popular over the last few years. Traditionally, they utilize empty shops or other buildings or spaces, for art exhibitions, restaurants or performances. They can last for a few hours, a few weeks, and in some cases have become permanent fixtures due to their popularity.

Pop-up’s can also be about connecting people and this is our aim at the Experimental Eatery. It is also nice to get a chance to open up a venue that might get overlooked or is underrated.

Is 'Experimental Eatery' a 'supper club'?

Experimental Eatery is not a supper club , it is a pop-up restaurant experience that sometimes features installation art, live performances, pop-up galleries, and boutiques.

Where is 'Experimental Eatery'?

Location is anonymous and announced a few hours before the event.

What is a 'tasting menu'?

Typically, in a traditional restaurant, you would look at a menu and say I want this, and you get that. Restaurant tasting menus offer small portions of several dishes as a single meal. Some restaurants and chefs specialize in tasting menus; while in other cases, it is a special or a menu option. Tasting menus may be offered to provide a sample of a type of cuisine, or house specialties, or to take advantage of fresh seasonal ingredients.

What is 'haute cuisine'?

As the term high art describes a certain discipline in the art field, high cuisine does such in the culinary world. Haute cuisine (French: literally "high cooking" ), or Grand cuisine, refers to the cuisine of "high level" establishments, gourmet restaurants and luxury hotels. Haute cuisine is characterized by meticulous preparation and careful presentation of food, at a high price level, accompanied by rare wines or in the Experimental Eatery's case, unique ambience.

What is 'nouvelle cuisine'?

Nouvelle cuisine (French, "new cuisine") is an approach to cooking and food presentation. In contrast to cuisine classique, an older form of haute cuisine, nouvelle cuisine is characterized by lighter, more delicate dishes and an increased emphasis on presentation.

What is a 'table d'hôte'?

In restaurant terminology, a table d'hôte menu is a menu where multi-course meals with only a few choices are charged at a fixed total price. Such a menu may also be called a 'prix fixe' ('fixed price'). The terms set meal and set menu are also used interchangeably.
